Packers Provide Grim Status Updates on Davante Adams, Geronimo Allison and Marques Valdez-Scantling
By Chris Russo
The Green Bay Packers will be at least one man short when they face the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
The team has provided a troubling injury news update regarding three of its top skill players, principally Davante Adams.
Adams will officially miss his third consecutive game due to turf toe, per head coach Matt LaFleur, though it is still uncertain whether Marquez Valdes-Scantling or Geronimo Allison will play this week. MVS is dealing with ankle and knee issues, while Allison suffered a concussion Monday night against the Detroit Lions.
Packers fans probably should feel pretty let down given that Adams said his toe felt "a million times better" as recently as Thursday.
Aaron Rodgers has had slim pickings at wide receiver during practice this week, and the trend could very well continue right on through game day.
The thought that Adams will miss the game, plus the possibility of Valdes-Scantling and/or Allison having to do the same, is a problematic one considering that the Packers barely slid past the Lions on Monday despite the fact that the two wideouts both played. The Raiders, it must be remembered, are no pushover at 3-2 after beating the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears in consecutive weeks.
