Sunday's action is slated to begin at 4:10 p.m. ET and will be broadcast regionally on FSSD and NESN. Streaming is available via the MLB Streams subreddit.
Padres Lineup
Eric Hosmer has been quietly average this season despite hitting a two-run shot on Saturday. While his .781 OPS may be a little low for a $144 million first baseman, his 84 RBI rank in the top 25 in all of baseball.
Lefty Joey Lucchesi (8-7 4.20 ERA) gets the start for the Friars against the tough Boston lineup. Lucchesi pitched well in his last start against Philadelphia, allowing two runs in six innings.
Red Sox Lineup
The top of Boston's lineup on Sunday consists of dangerous righties Mookie Betts, JD Martinez and Xander Bogaerts. With lefty Rafael Devers and his AL leading 103 RBI in between the righties, Boston looks well-positioned to have success off Lucchesi.
While Boston's offense always keeps the team in the game, Brian Johnson (1-2 6.58 ERA) must pitch well enough to help secure a team victory. The lefty gave up three runs in 3.2 innings in his last start, and performances like that are not good enough for a team fighting for a playoff berth.
