Pat Shurmur's Latest Quote Comparing Eli Manning and Daniel Jones is Just Absurd

New York Giants' rookie quarterback Daniel Jones has certainly gotten a bristly New York welcome since infamously being picked sixth overall in the 2019 draft. The pick sent the media into a frenzy (or laughing fit), and that can make things difficult for coaches and players, who have to be very wise in their word choice when answering questions.
Giants coach Pat Shurmur's most recent quote about Daniel Jones' similarities to Eli Manning's is truly remarkable:

Um, alright? Describing your two quarterbacks as "fiery under the covers" is certainly one way to handle things. We're just going to chalk that one up to a mistake of word choice.
Jones' similarities to Eli have been well-documented. They both trained under Duke head coach David Cutcliffe, they're both 6-4, and neither of them have rocket arms. Most notably, they look exactly the same.

Also, apparently, according to Shurmur, they're both raucous lovers.
Regardless of their similar appearances and demeanors, it's hard to imagine social media is going to let this quote slide. For all the dysfunctional moments the Giants have provided us in the past year, Shurmur's most recent statement takes the cake as the funniest.
