The first month of NFL action has already come and gone. Time sure does fly, doesn't it? Well, with September all wrapped up, the league announced the Players of the Month after the first four weeks of play.

To absolutely no one's shock, Patrick Mahomes was named Offensive Player of the Month after leading the Chiefs to a flawless 4-0 record.

The Chiefs starter has been sensational thus far this season, tossing for a league-best 1,510 yards, 10 touchdowns and 120.4 quarterback rating. Perhaps most impressive is that Mahomes has yet to throw an interception on the year. Not too shabby for the reigning MVP.

Meanwhile on defense, Devin McCourty has been an absolute stud for the New England Patriots. The prized defensive back has recorded an interception in every game for the Pats this year, spearheading the league's most formidable defensive unit.

McCourty already boasts four interceptions and five pass deflections, numbers which many defensive backs don't log throughout an entire 16-game season. In fact, he's already surpassed his 2018 totals in both categories, needing just four games to do so.

Meanwhile, the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month award was given to Browns' punter Jamie Gillan, while Jags QB Gardner Minshew and Panthers edge rusher Brian Burns took home Rookie of the Month honors.
