Patrick Mahomes Supports Black Lives Matter Movement in Latest Strong Statement
By Michael Luciano

Given the current social climate with protests centered around police brutality continuing in full force, several star NFL players, including Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, haven't exactly shied away from making their thoughts on the situation known. Mahomes has been particularly strong in his support of the Black Lives Matter movement, and he's trying to get Roger Goodell on the same page.
Mahomes claims that he has already spoken with Goodell about what he and the league can do to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement and prove that they are serious about tackling systemic discrimination.
Patrick Mahomes: "Every decision you make, there's going to be positive and negative. I believe my statement & the video. That stuff needed to be said. We believe that Black Lives Matters. It's been great to find the support from the Chiefs. I've talked to Roger Goodell."

Mahomes was one of many NFL stars featured in a short video explaining their thoughts on the recent social climate, with Mahomes punctuating the video by saying "Black Lives Matter."
Mahomes is not going to take the Michael Jordan "Republicans buy sneakers too" mindset and sit this one out. It's encouraging to see a player as young as Mahomes is doing everything he can to be a part of the solution.
