Patrick Mahomes Gives Hilarious Reason to Why He Stared Down Ref on Long Run

Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes finds a way to make everything he does on the field look so darn cool.
Even in what was considered a subpar game for his standards against the Lions on Sunday, he managed to make multiple highlight plays. One of them was an incredibly long throw in warmups. The other was this stare to the ref while running downfield.

While this play itself is mezmorizing, the most noteworthy and hilarious aspect of it came off the field when Mahomes explained what he was trying to do.

Here Mahomes reveals that the stare wasn't in an effort to be flashy, but to look back at the ref to see if there was going to be a flag for holding. He didn't want to run so far if the play was just going to be called back.
Yes, we have to admit that if almost any other quarterback was caught saying this, they'd be accused of being lazy or selfish. But, this is Mahomes we're talking about. A man that can make a pass with his left hand while being tackled has to be given a pass for a situation like this. This is just pure gold.
