Patrick Mahomes Has Perfect Reaction to Chiefs Selecting LSU RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire With First-Round Pick
By Thomas Carannante
Any defense out there thinking they'd get any form of relief in facing the Kansas City Chiefs next season is sorely mistaken.
Andy Reid and Brett Veach used their first-round pick to bolster the team's offense, specifically the backfield, by selecting LSU RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who is fresh off a National Championship with the Tigers.
And guess who loves the pick? Your boy Patrick Mahomes.
The first round of the draft started with a Tiger in Joe Burrow and ended with another in Edwards-Helaire. Fitting.
As for Edwards-Helaire, was a the perfect game-changer in LSU's offense last season, racking up 1,414 yards (second in the SEC) on the ground and 16 touchdowns (first in the SEC). But his hidden value is in the receiving game. He caught 55 balls for 453 yards and one score as well.
Pairing him with Damien Williams in the Chiefs' backfield is next to unfair considering all the bailout options Mahomes now has. Good luck, everyone.
