VIDEO: Patrick Mahomes Throws Terrible INT to Help Set up Rushing TD for 49ers RB Raheem Mostert
By Thomas Carannante
Patrick Mahomes has been far and away the best quarterback in the NFL over the past month, but the San Francisco 49ers just proved he's human. The Kansas City Chiefs star was targeting wideout Tyreek Hill on a 3rd and 12, but made a terrible throw and was picked off by the San Fran defense.
That was his first interception thrown of the postseason. And it was a bad one. Hill wasn't open for a second on his route, so this was just a bad idea period. Despite Mahomes ability to extend plays, it can sometimes get the best of him, although we've rarely seen that weakness this offseason.
And that resulted in the 49ers slashing the Chiefs defense once again. They drove right down the shortened field and Raheem Mostert pounded it into the end zone for a touchdown.
It's 20-10 49ers late in the third quarter. They're going to need some Mahomes magic plus a couple stops from the defense to stand a chance.
