Patrick Mahomes Proposes Using Tyrann Mathieu on Offense and it's Crazy Enough to Work

Patrick Mahomes is the kind of quarterback who can make mediocre receivers great, but this is a little outside the box.

Tyrann Mathieu was hyping himself up on Twitter after spotting an LSU highlight tape, and Mahomes said he wanted to involve the 27-year-old defensive back on offense.

Specifically, he wants Mathieu to run a jet sweep.

Mathieu runs a 4.51 40-yard dash, and open-field running is the kind of movement he excels with. The video showed it well; Mathieu can run laterally, and he has the speed and moves to outrun a defense.

Mathieu himself was a pretty big fan of the proposal, too. Always striving to be the best, the honey badger apparently wants to hit every mark on offense. He even promised to put in the kind of work that happens without much recognition.

If defenders like J.J. Watt can get on the other side of the ball, why shouldn't they involve an athlete like Mathieu? He's a prime secondary player, whose 17 career interceptions prove he has hands. He's fast, agile, and putting him out in the open field could be dangerous against opposing defenses.
