On Thursday Night against the Denver Broncos, it appeared as if Patrick Mahomes was done for the season when he dislocated his kneecap. Not only is the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback likely due back sometime in November, but there is an outside chance that he plays on Sunday Night against the Green Bay Packers.

Mahomes will miraculously practice Wednesday, and head coach Andy Reid hasn't ruled out the possibility of him playing against Aaron Rodgers in primetime.

It is still unclear how much work Mahomes, who is still leading the NFL in passing yards, will get in practice. Despite this latest development, all signs point to backup Matt Moore getting the start, with the recently promoted Kyle Shurmur backing him up. If Mahomes is anything less than 100 percent, starting him this week is suicide.

Mahomes is the future, so rushing him back to quickly is grounds for dismissal. However, if he is truly healthy enough to play, the theory that Mahomes is secretly a Terminator will gain more steam.
