VIDEO: Patrick Mahomes Trolls Bears by Counting Number of Players Picked Ahead of Him in 2017
By Scott Rogust
Chicago Bears fans were dreading Week 16 of the 2019 season for one reason: facing Patrick Mahomes. No, not because of his ability to torch opposing defenses, no matter how strong they are. Rather, this is the player whom the Bears notoriously passed on in the 2017 NFL Draft, opting instead to trade up and select Mitchell Trubisky second overall. It's a decision that truly bit Chicago and has lived on in infamy. Clearly, Mahomes hasn't forgotten, and after he scored a second quarter touchdown on Sunday night, the third-year star trolled the Bears and their fans by counting the number of players taken ahead of him in the aforementioned draft.
That's just ruthless, Patrick. But hey, that dig carried weight.
Despite Mahomes' freakish athletic ability, the Bears were smitten by Trubisky, who they deemed the most pro-ready quarterback in a class that also contained Deshaun Watson.
Perhaps nothing sums up the Bears' decision like the first three quarters of Sunday's game, during which Chicago mustered just three points and Trubisky threw for just 86 yards.
