Patrick Patterson Deletes Questionable Instagram Story About Postponed Clippers-Lakers Game Following Kobe's Death
By Michael Luciano
The NBA announced that a matchup featuring the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers will take place on April 9. It was originally scheduled for January 28, but it was postponed for very good reason after the tragic death of Kobe Bryant in a helicopter crash.
Clippers veteran Patrick Patterson, who is no stranger to putting his foot in his mouth, posted an Instagram story critical of the decision to cancel and then re-schedule this game, and even went so far as to suggest he would refuse to play in that game. He soon deleted the post.
What was he thinking here? How did he not know that the only franchise that Kobe ever knew for his NBA career might not be in the mood for a primetime game just days after Bryant's death?
Patterson, who also referred to black women as "bulldogs" last year, might be best served if he just gets off of Instagram for good.
There's failing to read the temperature of a room, and then there's whatever atrocity that was from Patterson. He might have deleted his Instagram story, but the Internet never forgets, and they will never let him live this down.
