Patriots Can't Afford to Let Jags Swoop in and Sign Cam Newton After Latest Leonard Fournette Comments

Who is the future quarterback of the New England Patriots? With Tom Brady gone to the sunshine in Tampa Bay, that's what everyone in the northeast wants to know. While Bill Belichick and Co. could go with a signal caller in the first round of next week's NFL Draft, there's another name fans are hoping arrives to town: Cam Newton.

While Newton's status right now remains up in the air, what we do know is New England can't let him escape their grasp to sign with a different AFC team. The latest buzz is surrounding the Jaguars, especially with Leonard Fournette coming out and saying he wants Big Cam on his side.

After missing nearly all of last season, Newton has been working overtime to get his mind and body right to bounce back mentally and physically in 2020. He's just looking for a new team to give him his shot after the Panthers decided to part ways with him. Will it be the Jags? The Patriots?

It feels like we'll find out where Newton will be playing next sooner than later. If the New England front office allows him to sign elsewhere, though, they'll surely be kicking themselves down the road.
