Patriots Clearly Knew Something Was Happening With Josh Gordon After Releasing Him
By Chris Pyo
With the news that Seattle Seahawks' wide receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended by the NFL indefinitely after failing another drug test, the New England Patriots must be feeling pretty good about themselves, as they waived Gordon on Halloween.
That leads to the following inference: the Patriots had to have some idea as to what was going on with him right as they released him.
There's no other logical reason as to why they would've released him, as everyone knows how depleted the Patriots' receiving corps have been this season. This led many to question just exactly why the Patriots straight up waived Gordon without any explanation, other than the fact that he had suffered a knee injury that was expected to keep him out for only two weeks.
The Patriots have been all over the news recently, especially because of a scandal involving their inadvertent taping of Bengals plays a week before they were supposed to play them. Is it possible they had inside information on Gordon's issues, as well?
Having escaped the headache of dealing with Gordon and his indefinite suspension, the Patriots can focus on bolstering their record and playing for the highest playoff seed possible, while Russell Wilson and the Seahawks lose one of their best deep threats.
Here's to Gordon successfully rehabilitating his addictions once and for all, as this has gone too far.
