Tom Brady's departure and Cody Kessler's release has left the New England Patriots with a quarterback room populated entirely by Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham. In need of some juice to add to that depth chart, the Patriots could look to pick one of the most underrated Day 3 prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Patriots have held a pre-draft video chat with former FIU quarterback James Morgan, who impressed New England with his arm talent.

Morgan completed 58 percent of his passes while throwing 14 touchdowns against five interceptions last season. He is a year removed from tossing 27 touchdowns against just seven picks.

Morgan made the most of his opportunity to shine at the East-West Shrine Bowl, as he was clearly the best of the six quarterbacks in Tampa. His natural downfield accuracy is his best trait, but his tremendous arm strength and a penchant for avoiding turnovers will serve him well at the professional level.

Morgan is considered one of the best Day 3 quarterback prospects in the entire 2020 draft given his performance in Tampa. If New England isn't satisfied with Hoyer and Sitdham alone in their QB room, they could very well end up taking Morgan in the later rounds.
