Devin McCourty's Latest Comments on Tom Brady Proves He's Fully Consumed Bill Belichick's Kool-Aid
Everyone and their brother knows it's about to be a long 2020 campaign for the New England Patriots. Going from Tom Brady at starting quarterback to Jarrett Stidham is like trading in your 2019 Audi for a 1989 Chrysler LeBaron.
Well, not everyone is accepting reality. Veteran defensive back Devin McCourty made that much clear with his latest comments, insisting TB12 bolting New England for Tampa Bay is not the end of the world. Oh, really?
We're sorry, but McCourty is way off base here. Once Brady decided his time with the Pats was coming to an end, it amounted to the conclusion of one of the most impressive eras the NFL has ever seen. The former Michigan QB led the Pats to six Super Bowl wins. The NE legend stands alone in NFL history with six championship rings.
And it's all over. Period.
Adding more heartbreak, Rob Gronkowski came out of retirement to join Brady in Florida. The thought of seeing those two in different uniforms next season is unsettling. How could this have happened?
Even this lukewarm photoshop depiction of Gronk in a Bucs jersey will take quite the while to get used to. Bill Belichick and the Pats front office will try and spin things as much as possible and say all is well in New England, but that's not the case.
This team is a shadow of its former self without Brady behind center. Sooner or later, McCourty will need to accept this fact.
