This Patriots-Dolphins Trade for Josh Rosen Actually Makes Sense

Miami Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen has played two seasons in the NFL, and in both of them he has been given horrible offensive lines, limited skill position talent new head coaches. Naturally, he struggled, being traded by the Arizona Cardinals in favor of Kyler Murray and his future in Miami up in the air with Tua Tagovailoa in town.

Reports claim that Miami has received calls about the former UCLA star and No. 10 overall pick, and the New England Patriots should absolutely give them a call about Rosen.

All it would take to get Rosen would be a fifth-round pick, and the Patriots could get a guy who could challenge Jarrett Stidham for the starting job in return.

Rosen's one touchdown and five interceptions in 2019 sounds awful, but it is quite hard to throw touchdowns when you have one of the worst offensive lines in the league, a rookie head coach, a first-time offensive coordinator who was fired after one year, and receivers who drop perfectly thrown passes.

New England would give him the coaching stability and expertise he didn't have with UCLA, Arizona, or Miami.

Rosen's arm talent is clearly a notch or two above Stidham, and he has the capacity to absorb Josh McDaniels' playbook. If Stidham isn't New England's cup of tea, they could be the ideal situation for Rosen to restart his career.
