It looks the the reigning Super Bowl champions can count on an integral part of their offense being ready in time for the start of training camp. Patriots running back Sony Michel was sensational his rookie year, and looks to take on an even bigger role in 2019. His status was in question coming into training camp considering the scope he had done on his knee that caused him to miss most of Pats minicamp, but now, the latest buzz suggests he'll be good to go in time for minicamp.

Michel's health is certainly of real importance for New England, as he was excellent his rookie year and will likely get even more touches his sophomore season. Michel did struggle with injuries at times in 2018, but still ended up with over 900 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns in just 13 games. The former Georgia Bulldog produced despite splitting playing time with James White, making his numbers all the more impressive.

The larger role that Michel took in the Patriots offense during the playoffs indicates that he will likely be used even more in the backfield in 2019. The young running back figures to be an important part of the passing game as well.
