Patriots Expected to Waive Josh Gordon Within the Next Couple Weeks
By Parker White

The New England Patriots made a shocking roster decision this week, as they placed wide receiver Josh Gordon on injured reserve because of some lingering knee issues.
Apparently, Gordon was unaware of this and, with the Patriots using a minor injury designation, the team has to release him when he's healthy, which should be in a week or two.
Sources close to WR Josh Gordon feel Gordon will be ready in 1 to 2 weeks, and at that time expect Gordon will be waived off the #Patriots.

With the NFL trade deadline coming on Tuesday, if Gordon is let go after the deadline then he'd be subject to waivers and other teams can put in a claim for him.
The Patriots used the minor designation for Josh Gordon's placement on injured reserve Wednesday, meaning the team has to release him upon his return to health, sources told @JosinaAnderson. https://t.co/UneN7KfG9I

Gordon has been playing through an injury to his left knee that ended up forcing him out of New England's victory over the New York Giants. He didn't play during their blowout victory against the New York Jets, and in six games this year he has 20 receptions for 287 yards and one touchdown.
The injury to his knee is worrisome, but if he proves healthy he could be a valuable receiver option for a team in need of depth.
