It's been long reported that Tom Brady fancied the idea of testing the open market, but almost every football diehard that witnessed the New England Patriots' 20-year dynasty surely had a gut feeling that he would return to Foxborough.

Well, Brady dropped an unforeseen bomb on the NFL on Tuesday morning when he announced in an emotional post on Twitter that he wouldn't be returning to the Pats. As expected, this immediately left fans wondering what led the 42-year-old to this decision.

In a much delayed, but still anticipated wait for justice, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reported that New England's offer didn't meet Brady's standards

And, as it turns out, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did have a numbeer TB12 wanted.

Every Boston hater is rejoicing right now, and for good reason. Hearing that the Patriots blew negotiations with Brady is the kind of uplifting news they probably convinced themselves would never come around with respect to this team and its iconic QB.

It's just too perfect.

How many times has Brady taken a pay cut for the betterment of the Pats throughout his career? Not once has the six-time Super Bowl champ been the highest-paid quarterback in the league. He always recognized the importance of winning above all else, and when the Patriots finally had the chance to repay him for his salary cap altruism at long last, they booted it.

You could say that the Pats are just living up to their ruthlessly cutthroat brand, but it's also impossible to deny they miscalculated here. Now, the organization will have pick its poison: Andy Dalton? The oft-injured Cam Newton? Jameis Winston, perhaps?

Good luck with that.
