Patriots Might've Gotten Fleeced in Trade With Ravens for Backup OL and the Apocalypse is Upon Us

It isn't easy to get the better of Bill Belichick and the Patriots, but the Baltimore Ravens might have done just that.

The Patriots are sending a fourth-round pick to the Ravens in exchange for a sixth-round pick and offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor, a backup that most people believed would get cut before the start of the season.

The fact that Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta managed to squeeze out a mid-round pick for a guy who likely would have been cast aside by the end of the preseason for nothing is absurd, especially when dealing with a team as savvy as the Patriots.

How an insanely value-driven organization like New England gave up so much for so little is beyond comprehension. There's still the off chance that the Patriots manage to build a solid lineman out of Eluemunor when he starts work with offensive line guru Dante Scarnecchia, but on the surface, it's abundantly clear that they paid far too much for him.

Perhaps it's a sign that maybe, just maybe, the Patriots dynasty is finally starting to falter. It's either that or the end times are upon us. The latter is far more likely, even if New England's offensive line depth is lacking.

There's still a lot of paths this deal could take, especially considering the draft picks involved, but as far as immediate value goes, the Ravens won by leaps and bounds.
