NFL Insider Suggests Patriots Could Be Fit for Percy Harvin Which is Pretty Insane
By Adam Weinrib
The New England Patriots, without Tom Brady, are mired in "See What Sticks" mode, when it comes to building an exciting offense.
If an electric wide receiver or punishing tight end is available, and that target is not named "Antonio Brown," they're probably worth considering, at this point.
So it should come as no surprise (well, some surprise) that Peter King has labeled the Pats a good fit for Percy Harvin's apparent comeback bid.
The 31-year-old Harvin (32 in May) was one of the league's electric talents a full wave of NFL players ago, spending time in Minnesota, Seattle, New York (with the Jets), and Buffalo before bowing out in 2016. He lost his place in the game due to repeated injuries, migraine issues, and attitude adjustments -- he may or may not have punched Golden Tate in the face in the Seahawks locker room during their Super Bowl-winning campaign.
Absence from the game aside, King's assessment of Harvin's game-breaking skill still rings true: "(He was) Tyreek Hill before there was a Tyreek Hill. Intriguing, and at 32, Harvin would be an interesting trial for some team. Steelers? Patriots? Falcons?”
All indications are Harvin has relatively fresh legs, and is taking this comeback seriously. Who's ready to take a leap of faith?
