For the first time in a pretty long time, the NFL is laughing at the New England Patriots at the conclusion of a regular season. All Bill Belichick and Tom Brady had to do was defeat the lowly Miami Dolphins to secure a first-round bye and the No. 2 seed in the AFC Playoffs. Instead, FitzMagic happened.

Ultimately, the Pats lost 27-24 on their home turf, allowing the Kansas City Chiefs to slide into the No. 2 spot. New England will now have to host the AFC Wild Card Game rather than getting a much-needed week off.

The Patriots' official Twitter account fired off its usual non-descriptive postgame response to the embarrassing loss, but football fans didn't let them get off easy this time.
