Even with Nick Folk healed from his appendectomy, the New England Patriots are looking for a little insurance in their kicking game amid the ongoing fallout from the injury to Stephen Gostkowski.

In the spirit of Havard "Kickalicious" Rugland, who kicked for the Detroit Lions in the 2013 preseason, the Patriots are signing YouTube star Josh Gable to the practice squad.

Gable became famous for his trick shot compilations on YouTube that show him drilling bizarre kicks from impossible angles.

Gable was a soccer player in college who made the switch to kicking after he graduated. He was with New England for one rookie minicamp, but his only live experience kicking has come with the Indoor Football League. Gable kicked for such illustrious teams as the Nebraska Danger and Tuscon Sugar Skulls before the Patriots came calling.

No matter what happens in his pro career, the fact that Gable has managed to grind his way to the NFL off of YouTube and the IFL is nothing short of amazing.
