Patriots Rookie Kicker With Controversial Tattoo Reportedly Left 'in Tears' Over Draft Day Drama

The New England Patriots drafting kicker Justin Rohrwasser in the fifth round raised some eyebrows, yet his draft slot is not the biggest story surrounding the rookie.
That had to do with a tattoo on his arm of a symbol used by a militant group known as the Three Percenters. The kicker claims he had it as a sign of military support, though its truer meaning is coded in white supremacy; the group protected the protesters involved in the Charlottesville riots. The entire controversy clearly took a toll on the former Marshall kicker.

Rohrwasser had vowed to get the tattoo covered, and did not fight back against the controversy, though it's quite hard to satisfy his critics, in such a scenario.
He was such a surprise draft pick that he has no leverage in the situation, and was wise to listen to those who were upset about the tattoo, even if all the noise left him in tears.

We may never know if his explanation is true. However, his goal now should be to stay out of the spotlight and not bring any negative light toward a franchise that is not going to deal with any distractions.
