Patriots Sign Former Packers CB Named Lenzy Pipkins Who is Real and Totally Not a Fictional Wizard
By Sam Dunn
NFL offseason rosters are not burdened by such frou-frou, cosmopolitan things as 53-man limits. With that in mind, the New England Patriots have made a generous depth move in the form of Lenzy Ramon Pipkins, a cornerback with a name that is real and not made up.
He is real and he used to play for the Green Bay Packers.
Again: he does not work for the Ministry of Magic. He is not an X-wing pilot. He is a real human guy and person.
An undrafted player out of the University of Louisiana in 2017, Pipkins' rookie campaign with the Packers was his most prolific to date, as it included 12 total appearances and one start. In 2018, he split time between the Colts and the Lions, playing in three games.
After the Lions cut him loose in November 2018, he caught on with the Cleveland Browns and joined their practice squad. They later bumped him up to a reserve/futures contract in January of 2019, but he was out of a job again come September.
Enter the New England Patriots, who have now cornered the market on Pipkinses.
