NFL Reporter Says Patriots Could 'Make a Run' at Taysom Hill
By Sean Facey
Even with Tom Brady likely returning, it seems as though the New England Patriots are in the market for one of the most intriguing quarterback free agents of the offseason.
According to NFL reporter Mike Freeman, the Patriots are a team to keep an eye on in the race for New Orleans Saints restricted free agent Taysom Hill.
It would certainly be interesting to see the Patriots sign the multi-tasking star. Head coach Bill Belichick is known for his crafty play designs, and he could make great use out of a guy who can run, catch and pass like Hill.
Last year, the do-it-all 29-year-old rushed for 156 yards, caught six touchdown passes, and threw for 55 yards in his all-purpose role in Sean Payton's system.
He's certainly no Brady replacement, but he'd at least provide an extra dimension to a Patriots offense that was incredibly lack-luster for most of the 2019 season.
Hill is something of an anomaly this offseason. It's hard to gauge what he's worth considering there aren't any comparable players to him in the league. At the very least, though, any Patriots interest could set the market for future players like him.
