Patriots Trade Duron Harmon to Lions, Let Ted Karras Go and We Officially Have No Idea What Bill Belichick is Doing
By Thomas Carannante

Did Tom Brady break Bill Belichick's brain? Or is the greatest football mind in the modern era about to fool us all? Truly, we don't know, and New England Patriots fans must be losing it.
We talked earlier on Wednesday about how, while Brady's departure is devastating, the Pats are losing key defensive player after key defensive player. After losing defensive lineman Danny Shelton and Jamie Collins to the Lions and Kyle Van Noy to the Dolphins, Belichick just traded stud defensive back Duron Harmon to Detroit in an effort to save more cash for...something.

And that's not all! Belichick also let Ted Karras leave in free agency (he also went to the Dolphins), a season after the veteran admirably filled in for the injured David Andrews. He pretty much signed with Miami for nothing! Does O-line depth and any defensive presence whatsoever not matter to Billy?
Ted Karras to Miami on a one-year, $4-million deal, per source. Another Patriots connection.

I know, I know, this is going to all be moot when Belichick's grand plan comes to fruition, but guess what? This time around, there doesn't seem to be a clear strategy. Brady's unsurprising yet unexpected departure has seemingly turned things upside down, and the Patriots appear to be approaching rebuild territory with no clear QB connection and a deteriorating defense.
It's surely a complicated situation, but from the looks of it right now, we have no clue what Belichick is doing.
