Patriots' Phillip Dorsett Shares Revealing Comment About Josh Gordon IR News
By Jerry Trotta

The New England Patriots sent shockwaves throughout the NFL on Wednesday when they announced that they were placing wideout Josh Gordon on injured reserve with a knee injury despite the player's own claims that he could return as early as this week.
The team is reported to be aiming to part ways with Gordon once he is healthy and comes off IR. That news completely caught the former All-Pro off guard, and he took to Instagram in the aftermath to declare his confusion.
Well, it appears that Flash wasn't the only Patriot nonplussed by the announcement, as fellow pass-catcher Phillip Dorsett disclosed that virtually every New England player was surprised by the news.

The rest of Dorsett's excerpt was alarmingly revealing, as he wasn't afraid to share his thoughts on the apparent ruthlessness of Bill Belichick and the Pats' front office. He does, however, understand that this is the way the franchise operates.
"It's nothing new. It happens every year," Dorsett said, per WEEI. “The thing that makes this group really, really good is that we’re interchangeable and we’re resilient. I got traded two years ago, Josh got traded here last year and we got [Mohamed] Sanu now. Things happen.”
You don't have to read between the lines to come to terms with the fact that Dorsett isn't exactly thrilled with New England being so quick to dispose of Gordon, one of his good friends, after his knee injury.

It's quite obvious that the Patriots' success is a product of their relentless pursuit of roster optimization, but locker rooms are viewed as a brotherhood, and it's becoming apparent that their penchant for unceremoniously kicking valuable assets to the curb does take a toll on some of the rank-and-file.
