Pedro Martinez Agrees With Jessica Mendoza and Goes After Whistleblower Mike Fiers in Astros Scandal
By Brendan Balsamo
It's no news to anyone around baseball that the Houston Astros cheated their way to a World Series championship. We all now know this thanks to former Astros hurler, Mike Fiers, who told The Athletic about when and how they cheated back in November. However, some feel that Fiers was wrong for coming clean about his former team's wrongdoings, considering he is no longer a member of the Astros.
ESPN analyst and Mets front office worker Jessica Mendoza certainly disagreed with his whistleblowing antics, and so does former Montreal Expos and Boston Red Sox legend Pedro Martinez.
Martinez went on to say that he would've appreciated Fiers' confession if he was currently on the Astros. "But to go and do it after you leave the Houston Astros because they don't have you anymore, that doesn't show me anything," said Martinez. "You're just a bad teammate."
That's a pretty harsh assessment from Martinez, who accused Fiers of "throwing the entire team under the bus."
While many disagreed with Mendoza's comments opposing Fiers, it looks like she finally has found one outspoken supporter in Pedro.
