Penn State Loss Makes CFP Look Terrible for Putting Them Ahead of Clemson
By Parker White

For the first time this week, the College Football Rankings were released and for the most part, the top four teams were expected. Well, except for Penn State getting in over Clemson.
The undefeated Nittany Lions were certainly in the conversation, but considering the Tigers were also undefeated and the top-rated team coming into the season, you would think in the first release of the rankings they'd be in the top-four.
Well, they have a great chance of getting in there next week, as Penn State lost to Minnesota on the road on Saturday.
(17) Minnesota hangs on for the victory over (4) Penn State, 31-26. This is its first victory over an AP Top-5 team since 1999 (defeated No. 2 Penn State).

In their defense, Minnesota was undefeated and are a heck of a team, but if you are supposed to be in contention for a national title, you shouldn't lose a game wire-to-wire, no matter the opponent. Not to mention, the committee cited Penn State's defense as a separating factor. That same unit was shredded on Saturday.
This is the Penn State team that the committee thinks is better than Clemson?

Having Clemson ranked fifth certainly created some buzz, but now the committee looks like a bunch of dopes because they left the defending national champs off. James Franklin and Co. continue to flop in big games. This'll hopefully be the last time they fool the CFP faithful.
