VIDEO: Mic'd Up Pete Alonso Dropping F-Bomb and Doing Play-by-Play for Mets-Cardinals is Excellent

Pete Alonso became the latest MLB player to get the full "Mic'd Up" treatment on an ESPN Spring Training broadcast, and the first Polar Bear to earn the honor. Not stunningly, he let one slip during casual conversation, since that's just the way beefy sluggers are built. Check out this casual mid-game F-Bomb, which may dissuade the league from doing this during the regular season.

Hard not to love this. The chance of hearing something NSFW has only enhanced our love for this idea. It's a feature, not a bug. First came the Astros trolls, then the loose cursing. Just put 'em together and you've really got something!

Alonso tried his hand at play-by-play during a stolen base, too, and fared gamely.

"The pitch....the relay...Rene Rivera cut down Tommy Edman," Alonso intones in his best example of Broadcaster Voice. Got to say, I'm not sure I can survive an entire season without these mic'd-up moments in real time. Can we please get a select few games wired like this? The All-Star Game and Astros-Yankees, that's all I ask.
