VIDEO: Pete Alonso and His Fiancé Playing MLB The Show While Quarantined is Amazing
By Jack Murphy
While MLB players are unable to work on their skills due to the outbreak of COVID-19, they have the the chance to hone their craft in the virtual world of MLB The Show. New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso went head-to-head with his fiancé in the newly released video game, and it resulted in some quality content. Watch as Alonso's fiancé, Haley Renee, sits him down twice before he finally gets the best of her.
Naturally Alonso was controlling the Mets and playing as himself, so Renee, in an effort to raise the stakes, selected the NL East rival Braves.
In the first clip, Alonso's virtual self struck out swinging which resulted in some harsh gloating from Renee. Alonso would get the eventual last laugh, however, launching a mammoth home run to center field.
With the MLB season on hold, Alonso has some extra leisure time to kick back and relax. Much like his fellow big-leaguers, however, all he wants is to get back out onto the field. For the time being, Alonso is resigned to satisfying his baseball fix on his Playstation.
