Pete Alonso saves Mets season with epic 3-run homer

People had written him off, but goodness, Pete Alonso delivered in the best way possible on Thursday night. In the top of the ninth, with the Mets down 2-0, Alonso stepped up to the plate with two runners on.
It looked like New York was on its way home in the Wild Card Round against the Brewers. Instead, in epic fashion, Alonso came up HUGE for his team, blasting a 3-run, opposite-field homer. Unreal from him:

As you can see from the video above, Mets fans lost their minds at Citi Field. Again, it seemed like the campaign was going to end, but Alonso proved to be the hero. Now, the Mets will head to the Divisional Round for a fun NL East showdown with the Phillies.
