Peter Gammons Implies Yankees Have Signed Gerrit Cole in Cryptic Tweet

Rumors have been coming out the past few days about how the New York Yankees will do whatever it takes to sign Gerrit Cole.
And veteran MLB reporter Peter Gammons seems to think it is a done deal.
Either Gammons is about to be the most popular man in the Bronx, or he's on the verge of being filleted and villified, because...well, this is just something you should not tweet unless you're SURE of what you're saying.
Jon is right. They were not denied. Dodgers, Angels will soon learn. https://t.co/8gIIrYEPKN

Saying "they were not denied" seems to mean Cole is going to the Yankees. Why would Gammons tweet this out otherwise? Being wrong would only hurt his reputation.
Until confirmation comes out, this tweet will have Yankees fans talking and freaking out.
Wait... wait... wait... wait... wait... wait...

Is Peter Gammons saying that the #Yankees have signed Gerrit Cole or is Gammo just being Gammo like usual? https://t.co/rjUqsNRM7g
For what it's worth, other insiders haven't been so definitive, but they're picking up similar vibes.
Several agents say Yankees appear to have back burnered other business while trying to finishGerrit Cole negotiations. This has a CC in ‘09, they won’t be denied vibe

If Cole comes off the market in December, that would signal a drastic shift from the way free agency went a year ago. It also means the other dominos will begin to fall, with the likes of Stephen Strasburg and Anthony Rendon. Teams desperate for a top player cannot afford to wait any longer.
Gammons seems confident, or as confident as one can seem in a tweet. That would be quite the news bomb on a college football Saturday.
