Phil Hughes Hilariously Roasts Yankees After Old-Timers' Day Invite
By Brady Williams

Phil Hughes retired in 2018 after a brief stint with the San Diego Padres. The game (and his barking body) indicated it was time for him to move on, and so he did. However, the New York Yankees seem to believe Hughes has moved on to his twilight years, as they extended him an invitation to their "74th Annual Old-Timers' Day".
That's a tough look for a guy whose age needs to double before he's eligible for social security. Hughes snapped back at the wording with a tweet on Wednesday.
Really guys? I’m 33 pic.twitter.com/kWxm8oCbgS

At 33, Hughes would be among the youngest players to ever participate. Even funnier, the Yankees had several players that were older than Hughes in their camp before Major League Baseball shut down their operations. Even Brett Gardner is 36.
Still, Phil Hughes wouldn't be the only young player to attend an Old-Timers' Day. Ken Davidoff of the New York Post pointed out that Luis Soto participated in the same year he returned to playing.
You could pull a Luis Sojo, Phil - play in an Old-Timers Day and then make a comeback in the same year.

It's nice of the Yankees to invite their former All-Star, but it seems Hughes would prefer a different name for the event.
