Impending Free Agent Philip Rivers Would Reportedly 'Love' to Play For the Titans in 2020
By Jerry Trotta
If 2019 has been indicative of anything, it's that Los Angeles Chargers legend Philip Rivers is hitting the veteran wall and his window as a starting quarterback in the NFL is closing.
Rivers is set to hit free agency next season, and it remains to be seen if the Chargers will be interested in bringing him back.
Now, according to Bleacher Report's Matt Miller, a rumor has been materializing around the NFL world that suggests the QB himself might not be keen on a return to La La Land. Folks, the eight-time Pro Bowler is reportedly enamored with the prospect of playing for... yes, the Tennessee Titans!
We certainly didn't see that one coming.
Miller notes that Rivers is a native of Decatur, Alabama -- which is just two hours south of Nashville -- and it's long been reported that the 37-year-old vet wants to be closer to his family in the final years of his career.
Sure, what better place than Tennessee for a new start, particularly given that the Titans are almost certain to move on from Marcus Mariota this offseason. A bridge quarterback to help transition to a long-term solution would be necessary.
If you ask us, this rumor isn't at all farfetched.
