The Philadelphia Phillies have been busy this week acquiring arms for their rotation and bullpen. The Phils have been in talks with veteran lefty Drew Smyly, who is expected to join the team pending a physical.

Now, the club has bolstered its bullpen with a trade for right hander Mike Morin from the Minnesota Twins for cash considerations.

The amount of cash the Phils are sending to the Twins has yet to be specified, but Philly fans are probably glad they won't have to send any players or prospects for Morin's services. Philly is also transferring pitcher Seranthony Dominguez to the 60-day IL to make room for Morin on the roster.

Philly faithful has been clamoring for their front office to go out and acquire more pitchers for their weak rotation, and it's great to see the Phillies brass finally listening.

Morin has been having a solid season out of the bullpen, posting a 3.18 ERA in 22.2 innings pitched while allowing just 11 runs. He may not be Marcus Stroman or Madison Bumgarner, two players that have reportedly been on the Phillies' radar, but Morin should help stabilize a bullpen that's in desperate need of a boost.

The Phils currently sit at 25th in team ERA out of the bullpen with a 4.98 mark, so there's no doubt Morin will be a welcomed addition for Philly.
