The Philadelphia Phillies are still in the thick of the Wild Card race, as they enter Monday's action just one game out. However, if they want to truly make a run, they need to address their much-maligned bullpen.

According to Jon Morosi of MLB.com, the Phillies have "continued interest" in Chicago White Sox right-handed closer Alex Colome.

The Phillies have made it known they aren't willing to part with their highly-touted prospects for a chance at a Wild Card spot, but they are still looking to add pitching, both in the rotation and bullpen.

Colome isn't a free agent until after the 2020 season, so he wouldn't be a rental for a Phillies team that is looking to contend right now.

In 40 appearances out of the White Sox bullpen, Colome has 21 saves and owns a 2.27 ERA with 31 strikeouts over 39.2 innings. The 30-year-old closer would immediately step in and shut down games in the ninth for Philadelphia, especially with David Robertson, Seranthony Dominguez and Pat Neshek on the injured list.
