Phillies Reveal Plan for Odubel Herrera's Extended Absence
By Parker White

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera made news on Tuesday for all the wrong reasons, as he was arrested for an alleged domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend in Atlantic City and has already been placed on administrative leave.
Herrera is guaranteed seven days on leave, but Major League Baseball can extend it if they choose as they continue to investigate the matter.
No timetable for MLB to wrap up its investigation. “It could take seven days, and it could take 70,” Klentak said. Administrative leave, which is paid, can be extended by league after initial seven days.

With Herrera out of the everyday lineup, the initial plan for the Phillies is to have Scott Kingery play center field against left-handed pitching and Andrew McCutchen to move over to center against righties.
Outfielder Nick Williams will start in left field against right-handed pitching.

To further deepen their outfield mix with the loss of Herrera, center-fielder Roman Quinn could go on an injury rehab assignment as early as this weekend when Philadelphia is in Los Angeles to play the Dodgers.

Herrera could be on administrative leave for a week, two weeks, a month or longer than that. It'll depend on how long it takes to investigate and what they find.
Simply put: Philadelphia could be without their former All-Star for a good chunk of the 2019 season.
