Though he may not have had the longevity he dreamed of in Philadelphia when he first arrived in 2010, Roy Halladay certainly produced an impressive chunk of certified moments during what eventually became a four-year stint in the City of Brotherly Love.

The Hall of Famer was rightly elected in 2019, though the honor came posthumously, following the tragic crash of a self-piloted small plane in late 2017.

Now, he's getting one final honor from his final home team: a jersey retirement ceremony, on an iconic anniversary.

During Halladay's remarkable first season in Philly, he authored the 20th perfect game in baseball history on a balmy May night in Miami against a young and hungry Marlins team. The 10th anniversary of that edge-of-your-seat 1-0 win will bring with it another night of honor for the Halladay family, and another moment which we wish Roy could be present for.

Of course, Halladay wasn't done completing no-hit games during that 2010 season; he opened the NLDS against the Reds with a home no-hitter, his first postseason appearance after a decade of battling for the spotlight in Toronto.

Halladay was the last of his breed, and we wouldn't miss that May game for the world.
