Phillies' Triple-A Team Releases Hilarious 'Salute to Philadelphia' Jerseys
By Parker White
The Phillies' Triple-A team, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, love to honor the city of Philadelphia every year by switching up their on-field look for one night.
On Sunday, July 7, the IronPigs will be changing their name to "Jawn," which if you don't recognize the word is a local term that is used to describe any person, place or thing.
"Each year, we try to come up with new and exciting jawns for our fans," said IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. "We've had cheesesteak jawns, Philly Special jawns, bacon jawns, and more. We think this jawn is one of our best jawns yet. We can't wait to see the Pigs wear their Jawn jawns on July 7!"
Lehigh Valley will be auctioning off these game-worn caps and jerseys following game that will benefit IronPigs' charities and Mercy School of Special Learning.
On top of seeing these new threads, the Phillie Phanatic will be in attendance. Get your tickets now for the IronPigs' special salute to the city of Philadelphia.
