The Boston Red Sox were so obsessed with cutting costs this offseason that a former MVP in Mookie Betts was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers for pennies on the dollar.
In one of his first games as a Dodger in Spring Training, Betts was matched up against the Milwaukee Brewers, who signed former Boston utility player Brock Holt to a one-year deal. Red Sox fans finally coming to grips with what John Henry did are sure to get angry and animated all over again once they see this heartwarming picture.
Betts was traded along with David Price to LA for a package headlined by outfielder Alex Verdugo and shortstop prospect Jeter Downs. Holt was not re-signed after seven seasons in Boston and latched on with Milwaukee, where his unparalleled versatility will serve the Brewers well.
it might take some getting used to for Red Sox fans and haters alike, but Betts is officially going to suit up in Dodger blue.
Seeing these two players donning their respective new uniforms will be a painful sight for Red Sox fans.
