On a rainy night in May of 2019, Tampa Bay Buccaneers edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul lost control of his 2019 Ferrari 488 Pista and crashed. The frightening incident left him with a fractured neck that forced him to miss several games last season.
With nearly a year to reflect, he's shared several images from the infamous 3 A.M. accident, and though he's thankfully recovered, the pictures show some considerable damage to the $350,000 Ferrari.
Pierre-Paul's injury was thought to be pretty extreme, but he miraculously recovered in time for the Bucs' Week 8 matchup against the Titans. In that game he recorded three tackles and a sack. He continued the season supporting his teammate, NFL sack leader Shaquil Barrett, with 8.5 sacks of his own in only eight starts.
He'll continue his tenure with the Buccaneers in 2020 with a clean bill of health and a revitalized offense.
It's great that Pierre-Paul is ready to go for this coming season, but the images he shared showed just how lucky he was not to have suffered more severe injuries.
