Pirates' Felipe Vazquez Moved to Westmoreland County Prison to Be Arraigned on Additional Charges
By Thomas Carannante
The fate of Pittsburgh Pirates closer Felipe Vazquez could be decided sooner than we initially thought.
The 28-year-old pitcher has been moved to Westmoreland County Prison on Monday and will appear in court before a judge on Wednesday, during which he'll be arraigned.
He's facing additional charges in Westmoreland County involving the same alleged victim, who he admitted to having sexual contact with when she was 13 years old.
In all likelihood, he'll be denied bond just like he was in Allegheny County.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Vazquez is charged with "statutory sexual assault of a victim who is at least 16 years old by a person who is at least 11 years older than the victim; unlawful contact with a minor; corruption of a minor by a defendant who is 18 years old or older; and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old."
When all is said and done, his MLB career will likely be over.
