Pirates Pitcher Jordan Lyles Leaves Game With Apparent Injury
The Pittsburgh Pirates were in the middle of game three of their four game series in Cincinnati when pitcher Jordan Lyles unexpectedly left the mound with an apparent injury.
After just four innings Lyles left the game with what was later reported as a hamstring discomfort. At that point, the game was still close as the Cincinnati Reds led the Pirates 3-0.
But after Lyles' departure, the Pirates' fate took a quick turn for the worse as the Reds were able to score five runs in the fifth inning.
This comes after the loss of starting pitcher Trevor Williams who was recently put on the ten-day injured list and Jameson Taillon who is on the 60-day injured list. The Pirates will now have to go deep in the pitching depth and hope for the best on the mound.
