After just four innings Lyles left the game with what was later reported as a hamstring discomfort. At that point, the game was still close as the Cincinnati Reds led the Pirates 3-0.
But after Lyles' departure, the Pirates' fate took a quick turn for the worse as the Reds were able to score five runs in the fifth inning.
#Pirates' Jordan Lyles leaves after four innings because of discomfort in left hamstring. He had an awkward follow-through on a pitch in the fourth. Pirates already are missing starter Trevor Williams and Jameson Taillon.

This comes after the loss of starting pitcher Trevor Williams who was recently put on the ten-day injured list and Jameson Taillon who is on the 60-day injured list. The Pirates will now have to go deep in the pitching depth and hope for the best on the mound.
