Pirates Suspend Keone Kela for Violation of Contract
By Daniel Marcillo

The Pittsburgh Pirates were set to activate Keone Kela from the 60-day IL on Monday, but instead announced Kela has been handed a two game suspension.
The Pirates declined to state what the exact reason for the suspension was, instead simply deeming it a violation of his Uniform Player's Contract, the standard deal every MLB player is held to.

Kela had only pitched 11 innings this season before heading to the IL with a shoulder injury. He struggled, allowing six runs, but did strike out 11 batters. The Pirates acquired him from the Texas Rangers for two minor leaguers at the trade deadline in 2018.
While the details of the suspension are still in the dark, Kela had to have struck a nerve in the organization to warrant a suspension. Whenever tension occurs in the organization is usually handled in-house.

It's anyone's guess as to which line Kela crossed.
