It is time to take a little trip down memory lane in Pittsburgh.
To honor the Pittsburgh Pirates team that won the 1979 World Series, the organization will rep these sweet throwback uniforms on the 40th anniversary of the occasion:

These unis take us back to the good ol' days when legends like Willie Stargell, Dave Parker, and Omar Moreno were still tearing up the MLB.
1979 was the last time the Pirates organization was able to secure a World Series Championship. Stargell led the way for Pittsburgh, winning MVP honors in the regular season, NL Championship Series and the World Series to cement his legacy as one of the greatest athletes to ever play the game.

With the exception of the 2013 National League Wild Card Game, this was the last postseason series victory for the Pirates. Now, it's only right that this beloved roster be recognized for their extraordinary accomplishments on the diamond.
