Pirates Wikipedia Gets Perfect Update After Derek Dietrich Domination
By Jerry Trotta
Derek Dietrich has come a long way since signing with the Cincinnati Reds this winter on a minor-league contract. He spent the first six years of his career with the Miami Marlins and though his potential was always budding, he was never truly an accomplished hitter.
In 2019, however, the former Miami cast-out has upped his game to a level we've never seen before. On Tuesday night, Dietrich cranked his 15th, 16th and 17th home runs of the year against the Pirates and the club's wikipedia page received quite the update because of it. Take a look:
Like Dietrich against the Pirates, the internet always come through when an opportunity presents itself.
What makes it all the more awesome is that Derek's dinger proficiency is virtually unprecedented. In none of his six full seasons in the majors has he hit more than 16 home runs.
So far this season he’s played in just 52 games for the Reds and already has clubbed 17 long balls.
Move over, Robert Nutting. There's a new sheriff in town.
