Pistons Fan Page Tweets Out Absurd Christian Wood Graphic After His Coronavirus Diagnosis
By Karl Rasmussen
Following the reports of Christian Wood's positive test for COVID-19, fans across the league took to Twitter to share their sympathies for the 24-year-old. One outlet's coverage of the news, however, was rather bizarre.
ClutchPoints' PistonsNation tweeted out a graphic which featured Wood next to what looks like a stock photo of bacteria, and it was definitely a bold choice.
Wood was reported to have been the third NBA player to test positive for the COVID-19 virus. The diagnosis comes exactly one week after he scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a matchup against Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz.
Probably not the best image selection here, and fans were quick to point out just how questionable the decision was.
Screenshots galore! Fans are ensuring the Pistons fan page doesn't forget what it posted any time soon.
The poorly-thought out image certainly is reminiscent of the hilarious graphic which was aired following Sam Darnold's mononucleosis diagnosis during the NFL season.
Give me Wood in this fight, folks.
Some fans opted against using humor in their replies though, telling the fan page straight up how they felt about the photo choice.
While the Pistons fan page was simply trying to keep its followers informed, the image selection for their graphic did not sit well with fans.
